Gabe Knowles went 3-for-5 with four RBI including a triple in the eighth inning that cashed in two as the Badlands Big Sticks topped the Wheat City Whiskey Jacks 11-5 in their Expedition League baseball game at Andrews Field on Friday.
Tied 5-5 entering the eighth, Badlands scored five runs and added another in the final frame to pull away.
Carberry product Jordan Robertson started the game for Wheat City (3-24), allowing three earned runs on seven hits in five innings and taking a no decision.
Joseph Harris earned the win in relief for Badlands (16-8), allowing one run on two hits in four innings.
Jayden Kay went 3-for-4 with two RBI to lead the Jacks.
Badlands and Wheat City continue the series tonight at 7:05, then wrap it up Sunday at 4:35 p.m.
