For the third straight year, entrepreneurs in southwestern Manitoba gathered for the annual SW Business Expo on Feb. 12.

The expo aims to connect entrepreneurs with helpful services for different points in their business life cycle.

Another service offered by the expo is a competition where businesses can practise their pitches in exchange for prizes. Thirteen prizes worth $8,000 were handed out at this year’s expo.

That includes $2,000 for Samantha’s Boutique in Elkhorn, who won $1,000 for the “best pitch of the day award” as well as another $1,000 prize from the Municipality of Wallace-Woodworth.

Chabluk Service Repair in Souris won $500 for “best overall presentation” as well as $250 and a one-year membership from the Souris-Glenwood Chamber of Commerce.

Other winners included Sub Zero Refrigeration & Heating, G.E.T. Glass, IntelliFARM, Joe Dandy’s, Ayana Wellness Studios, Mama Stay at Home Yoga Studio, 83 Industries, Ltd., Anastasia’s Serenity Wellness and The Den Designs.

The next expo will be held on Feb. 10, 2021 in Souris.
