A new-look Neepawa junior A hockey club hits the ice as the “Titans” this fall.
The Manitoba Junior Hockey League team unveiled the name, logo and uniforms on its social media platforms Monday morning.
It maintained black and grey primary colours, adding gold trim to all three sweaters.

The club announced it was undergoing a change in July 2020 and collected potential names. The other finalists were Salt Miners, Bulls, Valour, Thunder, Salt Dogs and Generals.
The Natives moniker, introduced in 1963, was sparked by Neepawa’s Cree roots and the manager’s passion for the Chicago Blackhawks. It was first used in 1989.
The move follows a number of name changes over the past year, including the Washington Football Team dropping “Redskins” and Edmonton’s CFL franchise ditching “Eskimos” and recently going forward as the “Elks.”
Virden native Brooks Freeman designed the new logos. The home and away sweaters feature a sword behind all-caps Titans lettering, while the grey alternate jersey has a grey helm without any lettering.
