 • 50 YEARS AGO — Noel Fisher and his team from Wawanesa captured the first event of the sixth annual Lions Club Interzone Bonspiel. Runner-up in the first event was George Hamlin of Portage.

 • 30 YEARS AGO — Stacy Pratt scored twice to lead the Sioux Valley Dakotas to an 8-4 North Central Hockey League triumph over the Kenton Cougars.

 • 20 YEARS AGO — Brandon Wheat Kings forward Tim Konsorada opened the scoring and teammate Lance Monych closed it out last night at the CHL Top Prospects Game. Monych’s empty-net goal in the final minute capped a 7-4 victory for Team Dave (Tiger) Williams over Team Kelly Hrudey at SaskPlace.
