50 YEARS AGORon Chipperfield scored both goals for the Brandon Wheat Kings as they lost a 4-2 contest to the host Saskatoon Blades in Game 2 of their Western Canada Hockey League East Division quarterfinal series.

40 YEARS AGO — Brandon fighters Shawn Brandenburg and Brent Mitchell, both of the Dakota Ojibway Tribal Council, won gold medals at the provincial boxing championships in Winnipeg.
