50 YEARS AGO — Glenora’s Jack Cuthbert came up with two big wins Wednesday to advance farther into the men’s ‘A’ event at the 14th annual Shilo invitational pick-a-day bonspiel.

40 YEARS AGO — The Deloraine Royals erased a 2-0 deficit by scoring five goals in the third period on their way to a 5-3 win over the St. Rose Royals in Game 3 of the Southwest Hockey League final. Dan Sunaert had a pair of goals, including the game winner with 5:23 to go.

30 YEARS AGO — Derek Gross scored at the 1:41 mark of the fifth overtime to give the Brandon Wheat Kings a 2-1 win over the Selkirk Fishermen in the third and deciding game of the MAHA provincial Midget AA championship series.

20 YEARS AGO — Ryan Craig had a goal and an assist for the Brandon Wheat Kings in their 3-2 loss to the Swift Current Broncos in Game 1 of their Western Hockey League Eastern Conference semifinal series.
