UPDATE: Some highways reopening, some remain closed

Due to current weather conditions in the province, several highways have been closed based on treacherous road conditions and winter driving conditions, though some have since reopened. As of 1:50 pm the Trans-Canada Highway remained closed between Highway 21 and the Saskatchewan border.

Due to current weather conditions in the province, several highways have been closed based on treacherous road conditions and winter driving conditions, though some have since reopened. As of 1:50 pm the Trans-Canada Highway remained closed between Highway 21 and the Saskatchewan border.

However, these highways reopened early Sunday afternoon:

  • Highway 5 from Highway 353 to Highway 20,
  • Highway 10 from Highway 24 to Highway 45,
  • Highway 16 from Saskatchewan Border to Westbourne, and
  • Highway 83 from Russel to Highway 42

The following provincial highways remain closed as of 1:50 pm:

  • Highway 2 from Highway 21 to the Saskatchewan Border,
  • Highway 5 from Neepawa to Grandview,
  • Highway 10 within Riding Mountain National Park,
  • Highway 20 from Ochre River to Highway 269,
  • Highway 21 from Highway 259 to Highway 45,
  • Highway 45 from Highway 10 to Highway 21,
  • Highway 45 from Rossburn to Russell,
  • Highway 68 from Ste. Rose to the Narrows,
  • Highway 83 from Highway 1 to the US Border,
  • Highway 276 from Ste. Rose to Highway 481,
  • Highway 278 from Highway 68 to Highway 50.
