A pair of Westman teams brought home bronze medals from the provincial badminton championship on the weekend.
Vincent Massey’s YuChen Gu and Jeet Vaidya finished third in varsity boys doubles, while Glenboro’s Lexie Shearer and Preston Shearer earned bronze in the junior varsity mixed doubles playdowns.
In the semifinals, the Massey duo fell 2-0 (21-19, 21-15) to Beliveau’s Kaden Buhler and Michael Hao, who took silver in the event. The Glenboro pair was defeated in the semis by eventual gold medallists William Poudrier and Laure Dizengremel of Notre Dame 2-0 (21-10, 21-10).
