Three Westman players and three Brandon Wheat Kings prospects have earned their first Hockey Canada invitation.
Josh Fluker of Boissevain and Brandonites Clarke Caswell and Ethan McCallum will be joined by Wheat King prospects Charlie Elick, Roger McQueen and Caleb Hadland at the national under-17 development camp, which is set for July 10-16 at the Markin MacPhail Centre at WinSport’s Canada Olympic Park in Calgary.
In total, 10 goaltenders, 30 defencemen and 60 forwards will form five teams. They will undergo fitness testing, plus on- and off-ice training with practices and intrasquad games. There will also be classroom sessions.
