Brandon’s Rylan Thiessen will soon be suiting up for the Brock Badgers.

The 21-year-old defenceman has committed to the school in St. Catharines, Ont. and will start his U Sports career this fall.

After spending three seasons in the Western Hockey League with the Lethbridge Hurricanes, his hometown Wheat Kings and the Swift Current Broncos, Thiessen wrapped up his junior career as a member of the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League’s Flin Flon Bombers.

He had 26 points in 33 regular season contests and had 10 points in 14 playoff games to help the Bombers reach the SJHL final, where they lost to the Estevan Bruins.

Thiessen also had an assist at last month’s Centennial Cup, where the Bombers lost in the quarterfinal round to the Summerside Western Capitals.
