Jason Potter, the reeve of the Municipality of Harrison Park, is still in hospital more than two weeks after a collision on Highway 10 left him with serious injuries.
Chad Davies, the chief administrative officer for the municipality south of Riding Mountain National Park, said on Wednesday there was no update from Potter’s family he could share publicly.
Deputy reeve Craig Atkinson is still the acting reeve, he said.
Dean Sutherland, 53, was killed in the collision, which took place at approximately 7 a.m. on June 6.
Police responded to the two-vehicle collision on Highway 10, approximately six kilometres south of Erickson, according to the Yellowhead RCMP.
A vehicle driving south and a vehicle driving north collided, police say.
Sutherland, who was from Onanole, was pronounced dead at the scene. He was the sole passenger in the vehicle.
A 45-year-old Onanole man, Potter, was travelling in the southbound vehicle. He was transported to hospital with serious injuries via STARS air ambulance.
According to Sutherland’s obituary, he had two daughters and was the owner of several chiropractic offices in Florida.
Potter’s family is also receiving support from the Brandon firefighter charity fund, Brandon Fire and Emergency Services chief Scott McDonald previously told the Sun. Potter is also a deputy chief of BFES.
