FP Newspapers Inc. announced the impending departure of two executives and the arrival of a new one on Tuesday.

The company owns The Brandon Sun, The Free Press (formerly the Winnipeg Free Press) and Steinbach Carillon newspapers.

Publisher Bob Cox will step down from his role on July 25, though he will remain in an advisory capacity until early next year.

President and chief executive officer Bob Silver is leaving his roles on the same date, but will remain as the chair of the company’s board of directors.

“We are thrilled to welcome Mike Power,” said Silver, “With a 20-year career, spanning various consumer and technology-focused industries, FPI will benefit from Mike’s strategic financial and leadership insights.”

Power has been the vice-president of editorial and sales operations for Atlantic Canada at Postmedia and previously worked for Brunswick News and the Toronto Sun.
