Kelleher Ford in Brandon has been bought by an automobile dealership group.
AutoCanada announced the acquisition via a press release issued Wednesday, stating its acquisition of Kelleher will help it expand various aspects of its business, including used car sales.
“This high-quality operation is our second Ford dealership and initiates our presence in western Manitoba — an attractive truck market, while providing the opportunity to further expand our presence in the market,” AutoCanada executive chairman Paul Anthony stated in the release.
“We are pleased to welcome the team from Kelleher Ford, and we look forward to many opportunities for continued growth as we integrate them into our strong portfolio of dealerships.”
AutoCanada said the purchase will allow it to potentially expand its used vehicle, finance and insurance, collision, and RightRide businesses. The transaction will be funded from a drawdown of the company’s credit facility and is expected to be accretive to 2022 earnings.
The current Kelleher management team will continue to operate the business, the company said.
Kelleher Ford is the largest Ford dealership in western Manitoba, AutoCanada said. The dealership and collision centre generates more than $50 million in annual revenue.
AutoCanada describes itself as a leading North American multi-location automobile dealership group with 81 franchised dealerships in eight provinces.
