Those repairs are located at: 739 First St., First Street at Park Avenue, 1302 First St., First Street at Brock Avenue, 1031 First St., 824 18th St., Brandon Avenue at Crocus Crescent, Brandon Avenue at Buttercup Bay, 10 Crocus Cres., 12 Crocus Cres., 13th Street at Southern Avenue, 13th Street at McTavish Avenue, 4 Antelope Pl., 824 Frederick St. and 46 Imperial Cres.
The repairs total approximately 950 square metres of asphalt being repaired.
The city wants the winning contractor to complete the repairs by June 30, 2023. Bids for the tender close Aug. 24 at 2 p.m.
Also added to the city’s website this week was a tender looking for a contractor to install a new crane rail assembly at the municipal water treatment plant’s main building and a new manual hoist and hoist rail assembly at the plant’s pre-treatment building.
That tender specifies that the water treatment plant must be able to continue treating water while work is underway, though shutdowns of up to four hours in length can be arranged should an electrical outage be necessary.
The city is looking for that work to be completed on or before Jan. 31, 2023.
Applications for the water treatment plant tender close Aug. 31 at 2 p.m.
The final new tender posted by the city is for the purchase of up to four mobile speed trailers — electronic signs that use radar to show vehicles in traffic how fast they are going.
Bids for the trailers are due by Aug. 19 at 5 p.m.
Changes to Brandon hospital entrances
Starting Monday, the Dennis Street entrance of Brandon Regional Health Centre’s main parking lot will be closed in preparation for renovations.
The renovations are part of planned expansion and construction at the hospital, according to a news release from Prairie Mountain Health. The only entrance into the parking lot will be via Russell Street.
There will be no changes to how people can pay for parking, either at the kiosk inside the hospital or the gate upon exiting.
Prairie Mountain Health will post updates as the project progresses, the release stated.

Calls for service down: RCMP
Manitoba’s West District saw a slight reduction in calls for service in June, the RCMP announced Friday.
According to the Manitoba RCMP’s monthly crime statistics, there were one per cent fewer calls in June compared to May.
That’s not as dramatic as the 16 per cent decline in calls seen by the East District in June.
The RCMP’s West District in Manitoba covers the U.S. border to Swan River from south to north, and from the Saskatchewan border to Portage la Prairie from west to east.
Within the district, there was also a 17 per cent reduction in reports of suspicious persons or vehicles, and a 36 per cent increase in well-being checks.
There was a four per cent overall decline in crimes against people, a 21 per cent increase in crimes against property and 13 per cent reduction in drug enforcement activity.
