After being reported missing Monday morning, two Westman children were safely located in Bathurst, N.B. Tuesday afternoon and are being returned to their home in Hartney.

Members of the Boissevain RCMP first received word that Chyanne Bailey, 12, and Brock Bailey, 10, were missing on 9:21 a.m. Monday, since the two children had not been returned to their mother after spending time with their father.

According to a RCMP media release, the two kids rode their bikes from school to the home of their dad Michael Bailey on Thursday afternoon.

However, the children were not returned to their mother by Saturday afternoon, as per the parents’ agreement, and no one in Hartney had heard from or seen the three since.

Michael Bailey also did not show up for work on Monday, which raised further suspicion.

After posting a media release about the disappearance Monday evening, members of the Manitoba RCMP provided an update by Tuesday afternoon stating that the children had been safely located with their father in New Brunswick.

No charges are being laid at this time, although the RCMP is still investigating the incident.

The community of Hartney is located roughly 77 kilometres south of Brandon.
