Hey there, time traveller!

Children suited up in their best princess and superhero costumes Saturday for an early taste of Halloween and to raise money for an organization with deep roots in Brandon.
The Provincial Exhibition of Manitoba hosted a princess and superhero-themed party for families at the Dome Building, where attendees could eat, play and meet some of their favourite on-screen characters such as Spiderman, Captain America, as well as Elsa and Anna from “Frozen.”
“As a kid, we all dream that we are going to be either a princess or a superhero,” said Provincial Exhibition president Brent Miller. “I think some of the parents are having just as much fun seeing the princesses and superheroes, so it’s a natural fit.”
The Provincial Exhibition of Manitoba has a long and well-established history in the community, but even it wasn’t immune to financial crunches from the COVID-19 pandemic, organizers said.
The Provincial Exhibition is now trying to make up for lost time by holding fundraisers and promoting the organization.
“We want to host events like this because we want to be around for another 100 years.”
It’s going to be a busy fall for the Provincial Exhibition, with the next big event — Manitoba Ag Ex — taking place Oct. 26-29, which will feature cattle and lamb producers together for the first time.
All events at Manitoba Ag Ex are free to the public.
