The world gave a final farewell to the longest serving monarch of Great Britain and the Commonwealth of Nations today, with a funeral for Queen Elizabeth II that drew presidents, prime ministers and monarchs from other royal houses.

Throngs of mourners in Britain lines the streets as the Queen’s coffin and funeral procession, which arrived at the west gate of the Westminster Abbey shortly before the service, which took place at 11 a.m. local time.

Canada’s longest-serving head of state died on Sept. 8 at her holiday home of Balmoral Castle in the Scottish Highlands at the age of 96, setting off 10 days of national mourning in the United Kingdom, and in all the countries that called her Queen.

If a deal is not reached by Sunday morning, either side could begin a work stoppage that would see hundreds of flights cancelled during a long weekend in much of the country.

A number of health-care services are expected to be restored in Dauphin next week as officials work around damage at the Dauphin Regional Health Centre.

Point-of-care testing, electrocardiograms, X-rays, labs and phlebotomy will be stood up at a temporary outpatient clinic in a provincial government building in Dauphin, Health Minister Uzoma Asagwara said on Thursday.

“You folks can expect that by the end of next week you are going to have lab services restored in Dauphin,” Asagwara said.

The information came during a virtual town hall hosted by Prairie Mountain Health.

“I called Prairie Mountain Health myself last year and (was told), ‘We’ll look into it.’ They might look into it, but they seem to ride it out till the heat cools down, and then, ‘Oh, we made it through another year.’ Like it’s awful,” the woman said.

She said she’s surprised more people aren’t complaining, as “people are literally melting.”
