Yellowhead Chiefs forward Hannah Reagh and Westman Wildcats netminder Grace Glover have been named the Manitoba Female Hockey League Under-18 AAA’s player and goaltender of the week.
Reagh, who won the league’s rookie of the year award last season — had two assists in a 4-3 win over the Eastman Selects on Saturday and followed that up with a goal and four helpers in a 7-2 triumph over the Central Plains Capitals on Sunday.
The Binscarth product and Grade 11 student at Major Pratt High School in Russell is currently tied with Chiefs teammate Dara Thompson for fifth in league scoring with 19 points in 15 games.
Glover — a Grade 12 student from Boissevain — recorded her second shutout of the season on Sunday as she stopped 31 shots in a 6-0 triumph over the Selects.
The future member of the Alberta Pandas, who was named the league’s playoff MVP last spring, has a 10-2-1 record with a 1.75 goals against average and a .932 save percentage.
The Wildcats and Chiefs will square off tonight at 7:30 in Hartney in their last game before the Christmas break.
