Fireworks could be the reason behind a car fire at the corner of Victoria Avenue and First Street on Tuesday evening.
Brandon Fire and Emergency Services and the Brandon Police Service responded to the fire around 7 p.m. after a blaze started from inside the two-door Honda while it was travelling in the eastbound lane.
According to deputy fire chief Terry Parlow, the blaze was extinguished quickly once crews arrived. He said fireworks were found inside the car, but they could not be confirmed as the cause of the fire.

Neither the deputy chief nor police could confirm the number of occupants in the vehicle but said there were no injuries and no arrests were made.
The Sun contacted Manitoba Public Insurance, which investigates car fires, but the insurance provider declined to comment on the investigation.
