Easton Adams, Yi Chen Liu and Trey Warburton each scored twice as the Western Canada Hockey Academy Wolves beat the Dakota Warriors 9-1 in the AAA Hockey Challenge’s final for 2014-born players at J&G Homes Arena on Sunday afternoon.

Lucas Moncrief, Bentley Crowe and Carson Chartrand also scored, with Isaac Emard replying for the Warriors.

Ben Sterling and Avery Nykolaishen combined to make 12 saves for the Wolves, with Ryker Hay stopping 26 shots for the Warriors.

The 2015 Brandon Ice Kings also earned gold, beating the River City Rebels 3-2. Jory Warrener scored all three goals to give Brandon a 3-0 lead, and they hung on after River City’s Evan Okapiec replied with a pair.
Brandon goalie Brooks Hackywicz made 24 saves, with Camden Sowa turning aside 34 shots for River City.

In the 2013 final, Jory Harms and James Pritchard scored for the PV Heat in the first period as they beat the Brandon Ice Kings 2-0.

Jude Friesen stopped all 13 shots he faced for the Heat, with Burke Keeping turning aside 30 shots for Brandon.

In the 2012 final, the Manitoba Force scored six goals in nine minutes in the back half of the first period en route to a 6-1 victory over the WCHA Wolves.

Holden Andrews scored twice, with singles coming from Jett Edwards, Nathan Simon, Carter Livingstone and Zach Mangin. Oliver Marvin replied for WCHA.

Diego Sheldon made 12 saves for Manitoba, with Grayson Ritchie and Owen Lindenberg blocking 14 shots.

The tournament resumes from April 27 to 30 with 2008-09, 2010 and 2011 divisions. More competitive tournaments are set for May 18-21 for the 2011-born and 2013 divisions, and May 25 to 28 for the 2012 and 2014 divisions.
