Cypress River’s Carson Carels is officially a member of the Prince George Cougars after signing a contract with the Western Hockey League team on Tuesday.

The 14-year-old blue-liner was the 15th overall pick in the WHL draft earlier this month after recording 32 points in 20 games for the Pilot Mound Academy under-15 prep team in the Canadian Sport School Hockey League last season.

Carels is expected to join the Cougars on a full-time basis for the 2024-25 campaign.
