RIVERS — Rivers Collegiate’s Class of 2023 consists of 19 graduates, the majority of whom formally received their high school diplomas Friday morning and took part in a public grad parade later that afternoon.
The parade served as a nice bit of spectacle for the graduates’ friends and family, who lined both sides of Second Avenue to cheer on these students as they transitioned into a life beyond high school.
Friday’s formal festivities continued with an evening ceremony at the Riverdale Community Centre, where the graduates got to enjoy a full dinner and some nostalgic speeches about their time at Rivers Collegiate.
Grad season will continue in Brandon next week with a series of ceremonies celebrating students from Vincent Massey High School (Monday), École secondaire Neelin High School (Tuesday), Crocus Plains Regional Secondary School (Wednesday) and Prairie Hope High School (Thursday).
