Splash Park siblings Thaddeus, 6, and his sister, 10-year-old Maisie, spent the afternoon at Rideau Spray Park in Brandon on Wednesday with their two other brothers and their mom, who asked the Sun to use their first names only.

The park was full of children and families who were trying to make the most of the hot days before school starts.

This is the last weekend for all spray parks and the Kinsmen Pool in the Wheat City, with a weather forecast that promises warmth and sunshine for at least the next five days.

On Wednesday, the temperature reached 28 C, with the humidity making it feel like 29 C. That temperature was six degrees above seasonal, according to Environment and Climate Change Canada.

The daytime high for this time of year should be 22 C, but for the next few days, the clear sky and warm southerly flow will create temperatures of 29 C and 30 C for Friday and Saturday, and 26 C for Sunday — the last day for spray parks and the Kinsmen Pool.

Today, splash parks close at 7 p.m.

On Friday, Saturday and Sunday, the Rideau Park and Westridge spray parks are open from noon to 7 p.m.

The hours are slightly different for Stanley Park, Kin Park and Valleyview spray parks, which will open at 10 a.m. and close at 7 p.m. on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

On Friday morning, adult and lap swimming is available from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

For the last three days of the season, public swimming is offered Friday, Saturday and Sunday, from 1 to 4 p.m. and again from 5 to 8 p.m.

Infants under the age of two are admitted to the Kinsmen Pool for free. Children aged two to 12 are admitted $4, youth from 13 to 17 years old and those 55 years and older are $5, adults aged 18 years and older are $6, and a family with two adults and five children is $14.
