Brandon University’s Homecoming celebration will kick off a little earlier this year, with a couple new events added in to spice things up.
While BU Homecoming usually takes place the weekend after Thanksgiving, this year’s festivities will run Sept. 14-17 to spare alumni from contending with unpredictable fall weather and a busy travel season.
Additionally, school officials will be hosting new attractions like a Terry Fox Run (Sunday) and a Langar meal provided by the local Sikh community (Friday) on top of more traditional Homecoming events like the BU Alumni Association Awards ceremony (Saturday).
Other events at this year’s Homecoming celebration include an opening reception at the John E. Robbins Library (Thursday), a community breakfast at Bailey’s Café (Saturday) and a lecture from renowned ag thinker and futurist Robert Saik (Saturday).
