The cattle call is out for producers and exhibitors interested in taking part in Manitoba Ag Ex in Brandon next month.
Entries are being accepted for all nine of the cattle shows including Gelbvieh, Limousin, Speckle Park and the new Scottish Highland breed.
Producers can also sign up for the national shows for Angus, Charolais, Western Hereford, Shorthorn and Simmental.
Manitoba Ag Ex is the largest all-breeds cattle show in the province, attracting exhibitors and visitors from Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Alberta.
This is the 50th year for Ag Ex, and plans are coming together for this year’s show, said Dallas Johnston, board member of the Provincial Exhibition of Manitoba and the Ag Ex chair.
“We’re expecting more producers, more trade show exhibitors and so much more to do for everyone coming to this year’s show, [and we are] looking forward to an exciting event,” Johnston stated in a news release.
There is no charge for admission, and all shows are open to the public, including the Little Lady Classic, Jackpot Bull and Supreme Breed Extravaganza. Plus, for the second year in a row, the Manitoba Sheep Association will offer its sheep show and sale.
Manitoba Ag Ex runs from Oct. 25-28 in the Keystone Centre’s Agricultural Centre of Excellence in Brandon.
