CONTRACTORS SOUGHT TO REPAIR BUILDING
More than a month after a natural gas line explosion damaged the Brandon’s Civic Services Complex, the city’s insurers have started looking for contractors to make repairs.
The Sept. 7 explosion sent one city employee to hospital and has prevented regular employees from entering the facility since. The injured employee has since been discharged.
On Oct. 12, Brandon posted a note on behalf of Global Technical Services and Crawford & Company stating that the insurance firms are accepting curriculum vitae “from qualified commercial contractors exhibiting extensive experience in complex commercial losses until October 26, 2023.”
After that point, the insurers will interview selected candidates.
Earlier this month, general manager of operations Patrick Pulak told the Sun that the building is not a write-off, but that repairs would likely be in the millions of dollars.
