Dauphin RCMP looking for missing teen

Dauphin RCMP are asking the public for assistance in locating a missing teen from the city.

Keshia-Ann Brandon, 16, was reported missing from a home located on Main Street in Dauphin on the afternoon of Oct. 27. Brandon was last seen two hours prior when she said that she was going to find a phone and make a call. She did not return home afterwards.

Brandon is described as 5-5, 135 pounds with brown shoulder-length hair and hazel eyes. She was last seen wearing grey sweatpants, a grey sweater, and white Nike runners.

RCMP investigating fatal vehicle-pedestrian collision

Blue Hills RCMP are investigating the death of a man after he was struck by a westbound semi-trailer on the Trans-Canada Highway, 10 kilometres west of Brandon, Thursday night.

Around 8:35 p.m., RCMP responded to a report of a man walking in the middle of the lane on the Trans-Canada near Road 115 West in the RM of Whitehead.

As officers were responding to the area, they were given an update that the man had been struck by a westbound semi-trailer.

When police arrived, the man was pronounced deceased on scene. Officers are working to identify the man, who was not carrying any ID, but is believed to be Indigenous and possibly in his late 40s.

The driver of the semi, a 25-year-old man from Regina, was not injured.

Blue Hills RCMP are asking anyone who may have seen someone walking on the Trans-Canada in the area prior to the collision to contact them at 204-726-7519.

Blue Hills RCMP, along with an RCMP forensic collision reconstructionist, continue to investigate.

Damage to traffic light at 18th and Park Avenue

A new traffic light was installed and a semi-truck driver was ticketed after a truck apparently stuck a traffic light pole on 18th and Park Avenue Thursday afternoon.

Police say that at 4:21 p.m., members of the BPS bylaw unit witnessed a semi-truck and trailer travelling south on 18th Street hit a traffic light pole when it attempted to turn west on Park Avenue.

The pole fell onto the flatbed of the trailer. For about two hours, traffic in the area was redirected while the pole was lifted off the trailer and a new traffic light was installed.

Police say there were no injuries, but the driver of the truck was issued a ticket under the Highway Traffic Act for careless driving.

Mischief to property

A 22-year-old man was arrested on Thursday for allegedly smashing computer monitors at a business in the 1100 block of 18th Street.

When police arrested the man, they also allegedly found him to be in possession of two steak knives. He was also the subject of an outstanding warrant.

The man will appear in court on Nov. 28 on charges of mischief to property under $5,000, possession of a weapon, and causing a disturbance.

Theft under $5,000

A 39-year-old man was arrested on Friday after allegedly refusing to leave a residence in the 200 block of 9th Street.

According to police, the man was also a suspect in a theft of clothing from a business in the Corral Centre on Wednesday.

The man will appear in court on Dec. 28 on a charge of theft under $5,000.
