• 40 YEARS AGO — Ron Young and Ray McLachlan both scored three goals to lead Playmate Sportswear to a 9-0 win over the Brandon Sabres in a Brandon Men’s Broomball League game.
• 30 YEARS AGO — A four-goal performance by Dale Lewis highlighted the Virden Oil Kings’ 14-9 drubbing of the Pierson Bruins in the South West Hockey League.
• 10 YEARS AGO — Brandon Wheat Kings goalie Jordan Papirny made 27 saves, with Justin Paulic and Zachary Sawchenko combining to stop 33 shots for the Moose Jaw Warriors during an 8-4 triumph at Westman Place. The Wheat Kings went 4-for-8 on the power play, while the Warriors were 2-for-6.
