The Vincent Massey Trojans’ quest for a sixth straight Brandon Sun Spartan Invitational title is alive and well.
Nate Jones recorded 23 points as the Trojans beat Regina’s O’Neill Titans 77-70 to finish atop Pool A at the 20-year-old basketball tournament for varsity boys on Friday, while Cher Madol paced the Titans with 29.
Jerry Ige netted 18 points to lead Massey (3-0) to a 79-55 win over the Glenlawn Lions earlier in the day. Augustine Okogie led the Lions with 11.

The Trojans play the Dakota Lancers in the Victoria Inn Division (Tier 1) semifinals today on the Healthy Living Centre North court at 11:40 a.m.
DAKOTA 94 VINCENT MASSEY (Brandon) 47
Dakota beat the Vincent Massey Vikings 94-47 on Kismayo DeMichael’s 29 points, with Temi Toogun dropping 21 for the Vikings.
DAKOTA 96 YORKTON 34
The Lancers then dropped Saskatchewan’s Yorkton Terriers, once again led by DeMichael with 33 points. Hudson Wawryk put up 14 for the Terriers.
MAPLES 80 GARDEN VALLEY 76
In the other semifinal, it’s the Maples Marauders Daniel McIntyre Maroonson the same court at 1:30 p.m.
Andrei Mallari scored 23 points as Maples edged Winkler’s Garden Valley Zodiacs 80-76, with Dante Dyck posting 16 for GVC.
MAPLES 109 LLOYDMINSTER 94
Trent Raymundo and Mallari had 24 points each as the Marauders enjoyed a 109-94 triumph over Saskatchewan’s Lloydminster Barons.
Daniel Imran led the Barons with 22 points.
Daniel McIntyre beat Garden City to win the pool. The score and stats were not available.
GARDEN CITY 77 ESTEVAN 66
In the earlier game, the Gophers came back to beat the Elecs after trailing most of the way on a 22-point performance by Crue Gard. Koen Turner led Estevan with 27.
The final is at Neelin at 7 p.m.

Madol guided the Titans (2-1) to victory with 17 points while Zion Unarse had a game-high 22 points for the Eagles (1-2).

Unarse and Colin Dyck netted 16 points apiece to earn a narrow Eagles victory.
Augustine Okose dropped 24 for the Lions (0-3).
DANIEL MAC 75 MILES MAC 71
Tyson Francisco’s 16 points pushed the Maroons past the Buckeyes and Liam Jaro, who had a game-high 17 points.
Results from the Estevan and Miles Mac game were not available at press time.

Dante Dyck’s monster 42-point effort was just enough for the Zodiacs (2-1) to edge the Plainsmen, who got 28 from Noah Mulaw.

Mulaw helped the Plainsmen (1-2) secure a win while the Barons dropped to 0-3.

Wawryk hooped a game-high 25 points in a nail-biter for the Raiders (1-2). Jake McDonald posted 18 points for the Kodiaks (0-3).
VINCENT MASSEY 72 RIVER EAST 62
The Vikings improved to 2-1 with a solid home-court victory. Scorers were not available.

In Source for Sports Division (Tier 2) action, the host Neelin Spartans meet the defending champion Selkirk Royals in the semifinals today at Neelin at 11:40 a.m.
In the other semifinal, it’s Steinbach and St. John’s Ravenscourt at Neelin at 9:50 a.m.

Felip Elizalde paced the Spartans (3-0) with 28 points while Solomon Singisingi posted 24 for the Nighthawks.

Elizalde topped his earlier effort with 38 points while Nick Hudyma led the Clippers (2-1) with 27.

Hudyma notched 32 points for the Clippers while Owen Unrau topped all Cougars scorers with 22.
NORTHLANDS PARKWAY 63 CARBERRY 51
Kevin Neufeld posted 26 points as the Nighthawks (1-2) got on the board with a victory.
Unrau led the Cougars (0-3) with 18 points to round out Pool E.

Teddy Ualat lifted the Sabres to victory with 24 points while JM Belarmino had 20 for the Tigers.

Brendan Folbert recorded 18 points for Steinbach (3-0), with Kadin Pambrun dropping 11 for the Sabres.

Brady Stroich carried the Hawks with 34 points while Pambrun had a solid 26 for the Sabres.

Wayne Bu knocked down 32 points for the Eagles, with Finn Abel dropping 26 for the Bears (2-1).

The Eagles (3-0) got to the top of Pool G with balanced scoring, led by Omid Torabi and Ian Kim’s 12 points apiece.
Ty Johnson led all scorers with 18 for Portage (1-2).

Abel helped the Bears bounce back against the Warriors (0-3). Scorers were not available.

Bobby Mazurat scored 24 points for the Trojans in their lone victory while Dylan Granger had 11 for Wawanesa.

Justin Cabenaros led the Royals (3-0) with 23 points while Brock Gosselin had 10 for the Tigers (0-3).

Tyson Prince had 11 points for the Royals and Andrew Baxter had 12 for the Sabres (1-2).

Kelby Diehl led the Panthers (2-1) with 19 points while Isaiah Kirkpatrick and Ryan Enns each had eight for the Sabres.

Diehl wasn’t done there, adding a 26-point effort to beat the Tigers, who got 16 points from Kieran Maksymchuk.
