The New Year’s Baby of 2024 was a late sleeper.
Bucking the trend of New Year’s babies being born in the wee hours of the morning, baby girl Eden arrived at 11:53 a.m. on Jan. 1, 2024 at the Brandon Regional Health Centre.
She weighed seven pounds and 4.6 ounces and was 21 inches long. Eden is the first baby to be born in the BRHC in 2024.
Proud parents of Eden are mom Ashley Blaylock and dad Simon Brock of Brandon.
Blaylock received a full bouquet of flowers from Carolyn’s Florist in Brandon. Eden was gifted a basket full of books, stuffed animals and more baby items, donated by the BRHC Gift Shop.
In a media release announcing the birth, Prairie Mountain Health and the BRHC congratulated the family and their new daughter.
