Hey there, time traveller!

For the first time since 2022, Brandon Fire and Emergency Services deputy chief Jason Potter appeared in uniform at Brandon City Hall during the first day of budget deliberations on Friday.
Potter, the former reeve of the Municipality of Harrison Park, was involved in a serious June 2022 collision with another motorist on Highway 10 just south of Erickson.
The driver of the other vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene, while Potter was transported to hospital by air ambulance.
Introducing members of his team ahead of his budget presentation, Chief Terry Parlow said Potter had been “working extremely hard” with his family on his recovery.
“I want to convey our thanks to everyone in the community and around the table who have shown him love and support throughout this year,” Parlow said. “It gives me great pride to welcome him back today.”
At the end of Parlow’s presentation, Mayor Jeff Fawcett invited Potter to the podium to make a few remarks and inquire about his health.
“I’m doing a lot better since my surgery in the fall,” Potter said. “It’s been lots of physio, lots of working out and I just got signed off by my surgeon in the middle of January to return to work and continue on. I’m very grateful to be here and very grateful for the friendship that you extended to me as well as all my co-workers and the city as a whole. Thank you very much.”
Potter was given two vigorous rounds of applause.
