Two forwards and a goalie were recognized as stars of the week following recent Manitoba Junior Hockey League action last week.

Steinbach Pistons goalie Cole Plowman (2003) earned two victories, with one shutout, following strong performances in the crease.

In a 5-2 win facing the OCN Blizzard, Plowman turned aside 36 of 38 shots before he stopped all 29 shots in a 2-0 shutout victory facing the west division leading Virden Oil Capitals.

The veteran goaltender leads the MJHL in wins (24), goals-against-average (1.88) and save percentage (.933).

Winkler Flyers forward Dalton Andrew (2003) was stellar for his team, scoring four goals and adding two assists in two games.

The hot streak continues for the MJHL’s leading scorer, who picked up right where he left off prior to the recent MJHL-SJHL Showcase.

In a 3-2 win facing the Dauphin Kings, Andrew scored a pair of goals including the game-winner while picking up an assist.

Two days later in Winkler against the Swan Valley Stampeders, he scored his league-leading 27th and 28th of the season while notching another assist to match his total against the Kings.

Waywayseecappo Wolverines forward Aidan Herring (2005) had a five-point weekend, including three goals.

Herring’s offensive exploits helped the Wolverines to a pair of key wins during the weekend, which included a hat-trick performance against the Winnipeg Blues with one even strength, one power-play and one shorthanded goal.

Herring also assisted on the opening goal in the Wolverines comeback win over the Niverville Nighthawks.
