The Softball Canada’s U15 girls’ national championship held in Brandon last August is a finalist for the Manitoba Tourism Awards event of the year.

The other finalists are the World Police and Fire Games, Nuit Blanche Winnipeg 2023 – Culture Days, Winnipeg Folk Festival, Gimli Ice Festival and Whoop and Hollar Folk Festival.

The awards ceremony will take place April 17 at the Club Regent Event Centre in Winnipeg.

The host Westman Magic were joined at nationals by 23 other squads from across Canada at Ashley Neufeld Softball Complex for the tournament running from Aug. 9 to 13. British Columbia’s Fraser Valley Fusion 08 emerged as the winner.
