Jaxon Jacobson will be needing a larger trophy case at home after learning he garnered another Manitoba U18 AAA Hockey League weekly honour.
In his sophomore season with the first-place Brandon Wheat Kings, Jacobson had a week to remember, collecting 12 points in two games.
On Friday night, in a battle between the two top teams with the Southwest Cougars visiting J&G Homes Arena. In a 7-1 win facing the Cougars, Jacobson was involved in all but one goal for Brandon, scoring once while adding four primary assists and one secondary assist for a six-point night.
The following day on a road trip to Winnipeg to take on the fourth-place Thrashers, 7-2 once again, Jacobson was involved in all but one of Brandon’s goals in a 7-2 triumph. This time he scored twice, while adding four primary assists.
His offence continues to drive the Wheat Kings power-play which currently sits at 39.8 per cent. Jacobson currently ranks first in the league scoring after 28 games, with 30 goals and 54 assists.
He was selected fifth overall by his hometown team Brandon Wheat Kings during the WHL draft last summer.
