This is the final week of Indigenous Art: Beyond History, on exhibition from today until Friday, from 1 to 4 p.m., each day, at the Sutherland Gallery. Curated by students in the Contemporary Indigenous Art class, the exhibition includes works from revered contemporary artists, as well as works by student, alumni and community artists.

Brandon University’s Celebration of Indigenous Excellence will include a sharing circle today, with fire and bannock on a stick. The sharing circle will take place at the ceremonial firepitm in the Kavanagh Courtyard, from 5 to 6 p.m.

Conservatory and BU students and faculty will celebrate women composers from across the ages in a special performance on tomorrow at the Lorne Watson Recital Hall. Voice, strings and more will be featured in this free event, which begins at 7 p.m.

The Brandon University Jazz Festival returns this week, running from Thursday to Saturday. Headline concerts, featuring acclaimed jazz performers such as Grammy winner Sara Gazarek and Grammy nominee Luis Deniz, will take place on Thursday and Friday, with performances at 6:30 and 9 p.m. There will also be free concerts each day. Rachel Herron will be the presenter in this week’s Science Seminar Series talk on Friday at 2:30 p.m. in Room 4-47 of the Brodie Science Centre. Herron’s talk, “Walking the Walk in Smaller Cities,” will also be streamed online. Email TeepleH@BrandonU.ca for more information.

The movie “Sweetland” is showing from Friday to Sunday at the Evans Theatre. The story of an endangered Newfoundland community and the struggles of one man determined to resist its extinction, “Sweetland” begins at 7:30 each evening. Admission is $6.

Pianist Daniel Tselyakov will be joined by guest Nancy Hennen, on flute, for “Harmony in Motion,” a Pro Series concert, on Tuesday, March 19 at 7:30 p.m., at the Lorne Watson Recital Hall.
