It was one last day of game play for curling enthusiasts when the Brandon Curling Club played host Saturday to championship day.
Here are the winning results after three draws for the various leagues:
• Tuesday Afternoon Ladies: Skip Joyce McDougall with Audrey Fleming, Arlene McGregor, Mavis Brown, Kim Durin, Sandra Smith.
• Thursday Afternoon Ladies: Skip Betty Couling, Deborah Valcourt, Gloria McMillan, Sharon Shannon, Linda Van Daele. Aggregate: Skip Betty Couling, Deborah Valcourt, Gloria McMillan, Sharon Shannon, Linda Van Daele.
• Tuesday Evening Ladies: Skip Sharon Pedlow, Krista Penner, Marcia Gruhn, Marsha Harris, Lois Hainstock.

Following championship day, a few awards were handed out.
Linda Van Daele and Ray Tomiak each received the Brandon Curling Club’s honorary life memberships, which goes to a 10-year plus member. Both have actively served on their respective league executives or the BCC’s board of directors.
The recipient of this year’s Lois Fowler special recognition award is Brian Manns. This award, which was renamed in honour of Fowler, a longtime member of the BCC, is annually presented to a current club member in the BCC for his/her contribution to the betterment of the club and/or the sport of curling.
The following day, the decals and ice were removed, thus ending the 2023-24 season until this fall when the ice returns for another season.
