BRANDON UNIVERSITY

With the end of exams over the weekend, the winter term has officially wrapped up. The spring term at BU begins on May 6 and convocation ceremonies, for those who completed their programs this year, will take place on May 30 and 31. There are also still some year-end student recitals from the School of Music. A list of those can be found at BrandonU.ca/Music.

Cree Knowledge Keeper Susie McPherson-Derendy and BU biologist and acting dean of science Chris LeMoine will talk about living the good life through the land in a BU Teachings House event today from noon to 2 p.m., in Room 4-34 of the John R. Brodie Science Centre. All are welcome to attend.

Former Humboldt Broncos coach Chris Beaudry will give a free public talk on Wednesday to open the Mental Health on the Prairies Conference. University of Winnipeg professor Jan DeFehr and Wildflower Alliance director Sera Davidow will be other keynote speakers for the conference, which runs until April 26. The conference will include a series of lived experience and keynote speakers, along with presentations from researchers and mental health partners across Canada. Join us to learn one of the fastest-growing sports in North America at a learn-and-play pickleball session in May. Sessions will focus on learning the basic rules while incorporating game play. Applications to apply to be valedictorian for your graduating class are due April 22 at 4:30 p.m. Being chosen as valedictorian is a high honour of graduation, but you need to apply to be considered! Two valedictorians will be chosen from the Brandon campus, and one valedictorian will be chosen from the Parkland campus.
