Campers are wanted to attend this year’s Camp Bridges at Circle Square Ranch in Austin from May 24-26.
The bereavement camp is a safe place for children and teenagers in the Westman region who are grieving the death of a loved one. It is free to attend, with the deadline to apply May 1.
During the weekend, campers attend support and coping skills sessions and experience activities offered in traditional camp programs, including hiking, archery and campfire gatherings.
This is Prairie Mountain Health’s 16th year organizing the camp, providing cabins for 40 campers between seven and 15 years old who live in Manitoba.
Camp Bridges provides a safe, supportive and fun environment where grieving children and teens learn that they are not alone in their grief and are free to share their thoughts and feelings with peers who are going through a similar experience.
Donations are also being accepted to cover the cost of camp rental, meals and activities, ensuring that campers can continue to attend at no cost.
