The public is invited to an open house at the Carberry Community Memorial Hall on Tuesday evening for a discussion about improving safety at the intersection of the Trans-Canada and Highway 5 near Carberry.

Hosted by the province, the open house will include a presentation explaining the three design options that were released publicly in January and give attendees a chance to provide feedback and have their questions answered.

Attendees will also have an opportunity to learn more about the next steps in the design process.

RCMP officers and tow truck operators work at the scene of a three-vehicle collision at the intersection of Highway 5 and the Trans-Canada Highway just north of Carberry last summer. Transportation and Infrastructure Minister Lisa Naylor said her department anticipates that the selected intersection layout will be chosen later this year and the functional design report will be completed in early 2025. Work on the intersection is scheduled to be completed in the fall of 2026.

The open house will run from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.
