The Centennial Cup is headed to Calgary next spring.

Hockey Canada and the Canadian Junior Hockey League (CJHL) made the announcement on Monday afternoon the event will be held in Calgary for the first time in its 54-year history.

The Alberta Junior Hockey League’s Calgary Canucks will serve as hosts, with the champions of the AJHL, Manitoba Junior Hockey League, Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League, Central Canada Hockey League, Ligue de hockey junior AAA du Québec, Maritime Hockey League, Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League, Ontario Junior Hockey League and Superior International Junior Hockey League.

Alberta has previously hosted the event seven other times since it started in 1971, including Edmonton (1975), Olds (1994), Fort McMurray (2000), Grande Prairie (2004), Camrose (2011), Lloydminster (2016) and Brooks (2019).

Schedules, ticket packages and broadcast information will be announced at a later date.
