One of the finest rugby players in Westman history is being enshrined in the Manitoba Rugby Hall of Fame.
Brandon’s Amanda Thornborough, 34, played at Vincent Massey before moving on to St. Francis Xavier University. She later secured a spot on the Canadian women’s rugby squad, making her international debut in 2013 and playing in a pair of World Cups.
Thornborough now lives in Victoria.
She is being joined in the induction ceremony by a pair of builders, Wayne Guenther and Troy Williams.
The dinner is in Headingley on Oct. 19 at The Gates on Roblin. Tickets are $100 for adults and $25 for children.
