Assiniboine College is partnering with Cape Breton University (CBU) in Nova Scotia again for a part-time Masters in Business Administration (MBA) in a Community Economic Development (CED) program that will begin in January next year.
The program was first offered in 2018, and primarily caters to working professionals. Classes are delivered on campus during weekends, and the program duration is 26 months.
Those interested in taking the course can learn more about it at a public information session to be held at noon on Nov. 30 at Assiniboine College’s Victoria Avenue East Campus. The session will be preceded by a lecture delivered by CBU’s Darryl Moore on, “Creative Thinking: Tapping into Your Innovation,” at 11 a.m.

The program helps advance Assiniboine’s continuing efforts to offer courses that provide career advancement opportunities and unique learning possibilities, said Terry Burgess, dean of the Peters School of Business.
Barrie Riome, director of the MBA program at CBU’s Shannon School of Business, said the program is for people who want to make a difference in the organizations and communities they live and work in. It also caters to individuals working in the public sector, social enterprises and entrepreneurial businesses.
CBU’s unique MBA program is offered in six other cities across Canada, including an online delivery format. It is currently offered in Edmonton, Warman, Sask., Brandon, Toronto, Kingston and Sydney, N.S.
