• 60 YEARS AGO — Waskada Comets won their fourth straight SouthWest Hockey League game as they downed McAuley 9-4. Bob Payne and Moe Mark each scored twice for the Comets.
• 50 YEARS AGO — Brandon Sokol Fighting Falcons came up with an 8-2 victory over Shoal Lake in a NorthWest Major Bantam League hockey game. Keith Sowiak led Brandon with two goals.
• 40 YEARS AGO — Brian Moffatt and his rink of third Garry McIntosh, second Gene Cory and lead Larry McCulloch thumped Ray Smart 8-1 in seven ends at the Brandon Curling Club to claim their second Zone 8 title in as many years.
• 30 YEARS AGO — Jeff Brown scored three goals and assisted on another to pace the Souris Elks to a 4-2 victory over the Pierson Bruins in a South West Hockey League game. Les Charles had the other tally for Souris.
• 20 YEARS AGO — Ben Ritchie scored twice to lift the Brandon Pizza Express Wheat Kings to a 4-3 win over the Winnipeg Sharks in the Winnipeg AAA Midget City Hockey League.
• 10 YEARS AGO — Ginny Grenier scored three goals to give the Pembina Valley Hawks a 6-3 victory over the Westman Wildcats in Manitoba Female Midget Hockey League action in Hartney. Jaycee Magwood replied with three goals, while Jossa Danis and Kaitlyn Crowe each had three assists for Westman.
