DAUPHINE RCMP ARREST WOMAN FOR DRUG TRAFFICKING

Dauphin RCMP arrested Angel Chartrand, 29, early on Saturday morning during a routine traffic stop on charges of impaired driving and drug trafficking. Chartrand’s breath sample failed permitted blood alcohol limits and she was also unable to produce a licence for officers. Upon conducting a search of her vehicle, Mounties seized a number of illicit drugs, including methamphetamine, cocaine and various prescription medications. They had also observed empty cans of alcohol in the vehicle earlier. The accused was also found to have several outstanding tickets worth $1,400 issued for offences under the Highway Traffic Act. She will be held in custody until a court hearing. Dauphin RCMP continue to investigate the case.

A man, 46, who was taken into custody on Sunday for offences committed under the Intoxicated Persons Detention Act was also found to have an outstanding warrant for theft, which reportedly took place on Dec. 7 at a business on the 900 block of Ninth Street. He was arrested and released once sober with an undertaking and a court date of March 17.

A pedestrian check made by officers early on Monday morning on the 1000 block of 12th Street resulted in the arrest of a male, 38, who was found to have an endorsed warrant of arrest. He was released later with an appearance notice for a court date to be set in February.

WOMAN ARRESTED

A routine vehicle stop on Sunday afternoon resulted in the arrest of a woman, 45, in the 300 block of 12th Street. Officers identified the woman and found her to be in the company of a man (also in the car), she had been barred from communicating with. The woman told officers she intended to return to her residence with the man, following which she was taken into custody as she had no intention of following a previous undertaking. She attended court on Monday morning.

MAN ARRESTED FOR VIOLATING DRIVING PROHIBITION

Officers arrested a man, 23, on Sunday afternoon in the 900 block of 18th Street North during a routine vehicle stop as he was found to be violating a driving prohibition order. The accused is prohibited from driving Canada-wide and was released later with a March 17 court date.
