BRANDON UNIVERSITY

Brandon University will host a virtual open house on Monday at 6 p.m. for students interested in attending BU and those who have already applied. Students will hear from professors and current students about their programs and experiences. The first 50 people to register and attend the open house will receive a coupon code to apply to BU for free. Register at BrandonU.ca/future-students/virtual-open-house.

The Department of Francophone Studies and Languages will host special guests on Thursday for a discussion of what it means to be Francophone in Manitoba. The free event is open to the public and will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. in Room 001 in the basement of Clark Hall. Guest speakers will include Brandon East MLA Glen Simard, who is the minister responsible for Francophone affairs, as well as St. Boniface MLA Robert Loiselle and TREO LAW partner Maître Joseph Pelletier.

Valentino Grbavac, a postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Political Science will talk about power sharing in Bosnia and Herzegovina in a Faculty of Arts Speaker Series talk on Friday. The talk will begin at 3:40 p.m. in Room 104 of Clark Hall.

The Bobcats volleyball teams will host the University of the Fraser Valley Cascades this weekend at the Healthy Living Centre. The women’s match will take place on Friday at 6 p.m., with the men up next at 7:45 p.m. On Saturday, the women’s match will begin at 5 p.m., with the men following at 6:45 p.m.

Brandon University and University of Regina choirs will join for a choral celebration on Sunday, featuring masterworks, Canadian works and other gems. The concert begins at 2 p.m. at Knox United Church. Tickets will be available at the door at a cost of $15 for adults, $5 for ages 12 to 18, and free for ages 12 and under. BU and Conservatory of Music students can also attend at no charge.

The Healthy Living Centre will host a co-ed volleyball tournament on Feb. 22. Registration is available at HealthyLivingCentre.ca.

Don’t miss your chance to participate in the biggest volleyball game of the year! Tickets are $50 per person, and teams must consist of six individuals.
