• 60 YEARS AGO — Eddie Maher scored three goals and added four assists as Decker outscored McAuley 12-10 in a senior hockey game.

• 50 YEARS AGO — Dwayne Kirkup scored three goals to help Souris Elks post an 11-4 win over Virden Oilers in the lone SouthWest Hockey League game.

• 40 YEARS AGO — Bob Edmundson scored four goals to lead the South to a 7-5 triumph over the North in the North Central Hockey League all-star game. Peter Baydak, Rob Ewbank and Lawrence Daniel also scored for the South, while Dale Sidoryk, Glen Katchin, Brad Bulbuck, Brian Glasman and Stan Furman replied for the North.

• 30 YEARS AGO — Will Daniel scored three times, while Ernest Elder and Brian Allan added two goals apiece to lead the Kenton Cougars to a 12-2 North Central Hockey League victory over the Sioux Valley Dakotas.

• 20 YEARS AGO — Marty Jordan scored three goals Friday as the Pilot Mound Pilots blew past Swan Lake/Holland 8-1 in the SouthWest Hockey League at Swan Lake.

• 10 YEARS AGO — Riley Hillis scored twice as the last-place Neepawa Titans stunned the third-place Steinbach Pistons 3-2 in a shootout on Wednesday night in the Manitoba Junior Hockey League.
