Hey there, time traveller!

Cold weather is being blamed for the postponement of the Brandon Riverbank Discovery Centre’s first ever Winter Trails Day that was scheduled for this Saturday.
An announcement was made on the organization’s Facebook page with the message, “If it’s too cold for the horses, then it is definitely too cold for the average Manitoban. Winter Trails Day is postponed until the weather is warmer.”
Some of the activities that the Riverbank had lined up included sleigh rides, free snowshoe and cross country ski rentals, ice fishing demonstrations, hot chocolate and campfires. A new date will be announced once outdoor conditions improve, the social media message also stated.

The province announced the creation of Manitoba Winter Trails Day last Wednesday. It will be observed for the first time this year and will always be held on the second Saturday of the second month to showcase the province’s winter trails and celebrate those who maintain them.
Additionally, for the month of February, access to all of Manitoba’s provincial parks will be free of charge, to encourage more people to take part in winter activities.
