The Assiniboine College women’s hockey team is riding a near-perfect start to the calendar year heading into this weekend’s final regular season contests.

Two goals from Brooklyn Franklin lifted the Cougars to a 4-2 win over the Dakota College at Bottineau LadyJacks Thursday evening at J&G Homes Arena.

Assiniboine also got goals from Keely Emms-Finnsson and Kasey Fouillard while Madison Haliuk had a pair of helpers in the win.

After dropping the first game of 2025 on the road to Jamestown University back on Jan. 10, the Cougars have not lost in the team’s last twelve games, which also includes two ties.

Thursday’s win sets up this weekend’s finale, a series against the North Dakota State University that starts tonight at 7:15 p.m. back at J&G Homes Arena before Sunday’s finale. Puck drop in that one is scheduled for 10 a.m.

The two-time American Collegiate Hockey Association champion Cougars enter the post-season as the top-seed in the ACHA Div 2 West Region.

The ACHA Div 2 women’s national championship runs March 21-25 in St. Louis, Mo.
