Police applied a tourniquet to a man on Thursday after finding him with serious stab wounds that he suffered while being robbed at a Brandon hotel.
Brandon Police Service received a call for help just after 9 a.m. Thursday from the 1800 block of First Street North. Police say they found a 24-year-old man with massive bleeding after he had been stabbed and robbed.
“Injuries to the victim were serious,” wrote BPS communications specialist Janet Reichart. “First responding police officers provided emergency medical aid … quite possibly saving his life until (an ambulance) arrived.”

Police later arrested three suspects.
The man was reportedly robbed of cash and his wounds include multiple lacerations and fractures to his legs and arms. An update was later given to police that the injuries are stable and non-life-threatening.
Tiah McKay-Catcheway, Sasha McAskie and Ethan Cook appeared in court on Friday.
The three adults face charges of violent robbery, with Cook facing additional charges including breach of conditional sentence and assault with a weapon and McAskie facing additional charges that include possession of a weapon and a warrant charge of failure to attend court.
The three suspects were kept in custody, and a request for bail was denied for McAskie, a clerk at the Brandon courthouse told the Sun.
BPS put out a statement on Friday saying that the Thursday arrests took place after leads from a police dog, video evidence and a taxi route.
According to the report, a police dog tracked the suspects from the hotel room on the 1800 block of First Street North to a nearby gas station.
The suspects were then seen on camera to enter a taxi, and police learned it had dropped them off at a residence on Second Street. Two suspects were arrested after they left the residence in another taxi, and one suspect was found inside the home.
Police executed a search warrant and found a machete, a knife and clothing from the suspects.
