Youth sexual assault

Following a Brandon Police Service investigation, a youth has been arrested in a sexual assault case dating back to late last year.

Police said Friday that a 13-year-old girl reported being sexually assaulted by a 13-year-old boy on Dec. 13, 2024. The alleged assault took place in the home of the male youth’s mom’s boyfriend.

The suspect was arrested and released on an undertaking with a court date of April 15.

Breach of peace

Police were called Thursday at 5:16 p.m. to a disturbance in the 400 block of Lloyd Crescent.

They found a 40-year-old woman to be the cause of issues. To prevent things from escalating, police said, she was held in detention cells and was to be released once sober.

Theft under $5,000

At 6:55 p.m. Thursday, police were alerted by an employee of a business in the Corral Centre that a female shoplifter was in custody. A total of $86.92 had been stolen.

Police went to the store and arrested a 36-year-old woman. She was later released on an undertaking with a court date of May 22.
